July Ceremonies ~ Lightningclan!!

    Pebblestar padded from his den the day was bright and warm prey was running well and he was ready to spur the excitement of the clan today. He looked out on the clan and was pleased to find that most everyone was in camp sharing tongues and a few clanmates were just returning from a hunt. 

    He stepped to the edge of the clearing "Let all cats gather for a clan meeting!" Pebblestar enjoyed the mild surprise on his clanmates faces.

    He greeted the cats with a swish of his tail and continued, “We have been having a great season prey is running well and our clan is better than ever. With that it is time to call forward two cats, Thornpaw and Flashkit please come forward.”

    The two cats padded towards the front of the crowed excitement clear on their faces.

    "Thornpaw please step forward.” Thornpaw stepped towards the leader and waited

     “I, Pebblestar, leader of Lightningclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentices, she has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.” He looked at Thornpaw and blinked warmly

    “Thornpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”

    “I do!”

                “Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Thornpaw from this moment you will be known as Thornslash. Starclan honors your spirit and strength and we welcome you as a full warrior of Lightningclan!”

                Pebblestar rested his muzzle  on the new warriors head and Thornslash licked his shoulder completing the ceremony.

    The clan exploded with cheering “THORNSLASH, THORNSLASH, THORNSLASH!!”

    As the cheers quieted Pebblestar focused his attention on the kit who was nearly leaping from his spot with anticipation.

    “Flashkit you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Flashpaw. Your mentor will be Mousebite. I hope Mousebite will pass down all he knows on to you.”

    Pebblestar looked towards Mousebite and nodded.

    “Mousebite, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from  RougeSong and you have shown yourself to be loyal and adventurous. You will be the mentor of Flashpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her.”

    Mousebite and Flashpaw touched noses and the clan rose calling the new apprentices name.

    “FLASHPAW FLASHPAW FLASHPAW!”

    With a new warrior in the clan and a new apprentice Pebblestar beamed at the strength of the clan.
